Health department cites 2 Springfield kitchens for out-of-date meat

Two Springfield kitchens had meat with use-by dates from December, according to inspection reports this past week from the Springfield-Greene County Health Department.

Inspectors found a box of raw ground beef in the walk-in cooler with a use-by date of Dec. 11, 2025, at the Henderson Unit of the Boys & Girls Club, 835 W. Calhoun St., according to a Jan. 13 inspection report. The violation was corrected on site by discarding the raw ground beef.
