Wrestling coach fired for allegedly hitting freshman at practice

ROTTERDAM, N.Y. (WNYT) — A 14-year-old wrestler from Mohonasen High School was allegedly hit by a coach during practice, leading to his dismissal.

The incident occurred Thursday afternoon during a team practice. Desire Rostocki, the girl’s mother, said she watched the school surveillance video showing her daughter approaching a coach and touching his chin to get his attention.

“She did it once and I think she did it a second time, and instead of his reaction being to maybe swat her hand away, he hit her directly in the face,” said Desire. “And then started to point in her face and curse at her.”…
