Montay Anthony Brown, 20, was sentenced to life plus 20 years on Jan. 15 for using a firearm to carry out the murder of Garfield Redd, 34, in East Baltimore last May.
Brown’s sentencing comes almost three months after he was found guilty of all charges last Halloween before Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge LaZette C. Ringgold-Kirksey.
According to court records and surveillance footage, Brown, who was 19 years old at the time of Redd’s murder on May 6, 2024, approached the driver’s side window of the victim’s 2006 black Acura TLX at an intersection on Charles Street before producing a sawed-off shotgun from his backpack and shooting Redd in the left eye.
