Health and safety matter when you dine out. Sarasota County restaurants need to protect local diners who trust these establishments to serve safe food. In December 2025, the Florida Department of Business & Professional Regulation conducted 108 inspections across the county. Of those, 88 restaurants passed on the first visit. However, 20 failed their initial inspection. A total of 21 restaurants were in the spotlight for having the most violations in Sarasota County during December 2025.
What Happened During The Inspection Violations
One establishment was ordered to close temporarily. Amy Star Izakaya Siesta Key, located at 230 Avenida Madera in Siesta Key, faced an emergency order on December 3. Inspectors found 13 violations, including dead roaches and roach activity. The restaurant received a $400 fine for two infractions.…
