3 arrested following West Oakland shooting

OAKLAND, Calif. A large law enforcement response unfolded in a West Oakland neighborhood Thursday afternoon following a shooting earlier in the day.

Surveillance video captures gunfire

What we know:

The incident began on Thursday, just before 11:15 a.m. in the 700 block of Willow Street. Although responding officers initially found no victims or evidence of a shooting, investigators recovered surveillance video from the area. The footage captured the gunfire and an image of the vehicle involved.

Hours later, at around 2:20 p.m, officers spotted the vehicle in East Oakland. Officers didn’t engage in a chase, but deployed the department’s helicopter to track the car through several neighborhoods.
