Polk County residents are gearing up for an insightful glimpse into the workings of their local government, as the Board of County Commissioners is set to convene for an agenda review and work session tomorrow. According to an announcement on Polk County’s official website, the 9 a.m. meeting, held in the Board Conference Room of the Polk County Administration Building, promises to cover key issues, including an update on the Central Polk Parkway and affordable housing initiatives.
Under the leadership of Chair Commissioner Martha Santiago, the session will provide an overview of what to expect in the upcoming Board Meeting slated for Jan. 20. In addition to the usual briefings from the County Manager and County Attorney, there will be a moment to honor the career of Chris Oswalt who’s retiring after years of service, as shared by Bill Beasley, County Manager, and Nicole Walker, who directs Polk’s Cooperative Extension Services Division.
