KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WATE) — If you’ve ever looked at a downtown parking garage and thought, “That would make a great dance floor,” Dragonfly Aerial and Circus Arts Studio is already one step ahead.
Living East Tennessee joined the Dragonfly team on State Street in downtown Knoxville to witness the incredible art of vertical dancing, a performance style that quite literally takes dancers off the ground and onto walls. Harnessed and suspended, performers move with grace, strength, and precision while dancing down the side of the parking garage.
We spoke with Jake Weinstein, manager, teacher, and performer at Dragonfly Aerial and Circus Arts Studio, about the intense preparation and training that goes into vertical dance.
