BYHALIA, Miss. – A former warehouse in Marshall County, MS, appeared on a list of possible ICE detention facilities nationwide. It’s a spreadsheet making its rounds on social media as federal site visits were scheduled to take place this week.
Friday, whistleblowers held a news conference outside of a building at 280 Mt. Carmel Road in rural Byhalia. It’s just outside of town limits.
“We are gathered here this morning in front of this warehouse, in rural Byhalia, Mississippi, because the owner plans to sell it or potentially lease it to the Trump administration for conversion into an ICE detention center, where they will cage up to 8,500 human beings,” organizer Chelsea Howard said during the conference…
