Bicyclist, 63, dies after Highway 120 crash east of 26-Mile Road in Stanislaus

A 63-year-old bicyclist died following a collision Jan. 9 on westbound State Route 120 east of 26-Mile Road, according to the California Highway Patrol.

Patrick McCulloch was driving a 2007 Ford pickup west on SR-120 when the bicyclist, who was riding east on the north shoulder, swerved into the lane directly in front of the vehicle, the CHP reported. The front of the pickup struck the bicyclist. Officers responded to the scene at about 6:19 p.m.

The bicyclist, Wayne Townsend of Oakdale, was taken to Memorial Medical Center, where he later died…
