Suspect arrested for shooting that harmed teenager

MONTGOMERY, Ala. (WSFA) – A suspect has been arrested in connection with a Wednesday shooting that harmed a teenager, court documents state.

Austin Godfrey, 35, of Montgomery, was arrested Friday, charged with second degree assault and discharging a gun into an occupied vehicle.

Wednesday, police responded to the Baptist East Medical Center in reference to a person shot. The victim, a teenaged girl, has not been identified.

The victim’s mother said they were driving in the 2800 block of Willena Avenue when the suspect began firing at their car, hitting it several times. The victim was grazed by a bullet…
