Stepped-up ID checks won’t begin until April 1 at pools in The Villages.

After a recent study by the The Villages Recreation Department found nearly perfect compliance during ID checks at swimming pools, the Project Wide Advisory Committee and the Amenity Authority Committee, feeling the heat from residents, both agreed to move forward with stepped-up ID checking.

Beginning April 1:

  • Recreation staff will continue conducting a minimum of three random pool ID checks daily
  • Community Watch staff will add at least two additional random daily checks
  • Community Watch will also utilize pool ID scanners to support these efforts

“This approach increases visibility and consistency while avoiding more costly or restrictive measures.
