ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — Monroe County reported 675 laboratory-confirmed influenza cases in the week ending Jan. 10, a 45% decrease from the previous week, according to new data released by the New York State Department of Health.
The majority of local infections — 647 — were influenza A, while 28 were influenza B. No cases were listed as “type not specified.”

Statewide, New York recorded 21,086 new cases for the week, marking a 40% decrease from the previous reporting period. Even with the drop, the total number of flu cases reported so far this season has reached 300,351.
