Holly Ridge town votes to annex 1,500 acres, doubling its size and boosting revenue

A proposed annexation could more than double the size of the town of Holly Ridge. A landowner has officially applied to annex roughly 1,500 acres of land spanning Onslow and Pender counties.

Tuesday night, the town voted in favor of the annexation, beginning a long process for Holly Ridge. Town leaders say the move could bring expanded services, increased tax revenue, and workforce housing.
