‘So malnourished’: Parents arrested after 1-year-old allegedly ‘doesn’t react to hunger’

RIVESVILLE, W.Va. (WDTV/Gray News) – Two West Virginia parents were arrested after a nurse allegedly reported their child was “so malnourished that he doesn’t react to hunger,” according to authorities.

Cheyenne Hicks, 31, and Zachary Thornburg, 31, were charged with child neglect and creating risk of injury.

Hicks and Thornburg brought the 15-month-old child to a medical checkup, where doctors told them they needed to bring the child to the children’s emergency room.

After the couple failed to take the child to the hospital, doctors called child protective services…
