OVERLAND PARK, Kan. (KCTV) – The property owner and contractors at the South Overland Park Incred-A-Bowl have completed required structural repairs, with the 60,000 square-foot commercial building passing city inspections in early December.
The building’s owner met his Jan. 16 deadline to either complete repairs or face possible demolition by the city. The council voted unanimously in October to declare the structure at 151st Street and Antioch Road unsafe following years of delays attributed to unpermitted modifications, causing structural concerns.
“The building has now been cleared for occupancy following the completion of all necessary repairs,” according to a city spokesperson.
The property was sold to its current owner in 2015, who added a functioning gym on the west side, while the eastern portion of the building had been left vacant and deteriorating…
