Man charged with murder of Amazon driver to face trial

LAWRENCE CO., Mo. — A Lawrence County judge says there is enough evidence to go to trial against a man charged with killing an Amazon delivery driver.

Thomas Coy, 65, appeared in court early this afternoon for a preliminary hearing.

After listening to evidence from both prosecutors and defense attorneys, Judge Matthew Kasper determined there was enough probable cause that the crime did happen and Coy was the one who committed it.

Online misinformation causing problems for investigators in Amazon driver shooting

Coy is scheduled to be back in court in February. He is charged with first-degree murder and armed criminal action for the shooting dead of Jasmine Taylor, 23, of Joplin on February 5 of last year.
