BOISE, Idaho (CBS2) — The City of Boise is joining the nationwide celebration of the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence, inviting the community to engage with history and civics.
Boise’s commemoration will include arts, culture, storytelling, exhibitions, civic events, and history-themed gatherings, culminating in the city’s Fourth of July celebration. The events are guided by themes from the American Association for State and Local History’s 250th Anniversary Program Field Guide, focusing on “Unfinished Revolutions,” “Power of Place,” “We the People,” “American Experiment,” and “Doing History.”
“This is a historic moment, as communities across the nation come together to reflect on 250 years of the American experiment,” said Boise Mayor McLean. “Here in Boise, we are celebrating not only where we’ve been, but where we’re going—guided by shared values, civic pride, and a commitment to shaping a better future together.”…
