Colorado trooper halts wrong-way driver, averts possible serious crash

DENVER COUNTY, Colo. (KREX) – On Dec. 29, 2025, at approximately 2:11 a.m., Sgt. Christian Bollen with the Colorado State Patrol arrested a reportedly impaired driver on Highway 6, preventing a potential crash. The driver, 59-year-old Peter Hart, was allegedly traveling the wrong way on the highway when Bollen intervened.

The incident took place near the Perry Street overpass in Denver County, where Bollen observed Hart driving a red Toyota Tacoma going westbound in the eastbound lanes. This created a serious and life-threatening hazard for oncoming traffic, according to CSP.

Bollen, while patrolling eastbound on Highway 6, quickly turned around and activated his emergency lights and siren to stop the vehicle. Despite his efforts, the driver reportedly failed to yield and continued on his dangerous path, state patrol stated…
