CANTON − The parents of Gabby Petito will address participants in a two-day domestic violence training and awareness event in Stark County next month, the Stark County Prosecutor’s office announced on Jan. 15.
Nichole Schmidt, Gabby Petito’s mother, and Jim Schmidt, Gabby Petito’s stepfather “will share their daughter’s story, discuss warning signs of abusive relationships, and highlight the mission of the Gabby Petito Foundation,” the prosecutor’s office said in an email.
The free event is from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Feb. 12 at First Christian Church at 6900 Market Ave. N in Plain Township and is open to the public. It will feature “a panel of local community leaders (who) will discuss the impact of domestic violence in Stark County and ongoing efforts to address it as a public health crisis.”…
