Mifflin HS teacher, coach out of class amid investigation

A Mifflin High School gym teacher and coach has been removed from teaching duty amid allegations that he had an inappropriate relationship with a minor student, Columbus City Schools said.

In a statement, Columbus City Schools spokesperson Mike Brown said that on Jan.14, the district received allegations that a Mifflin High School teacher had “inappropriate allegations” with a former student who was a minor at the time.

The district said it was “taking the allegations seriously,” and that the teacher is is no longer working in a classroom or school setting pending the outcome of the investigation. The district has informed Franklin County Children’s Services and Columbus police of the investigation.  If a criminal act is suspected, police and CCS would both be investigating at the same time…
