Happening This Weekend: Events in North Alabama, January 16-19

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. — There are plenty of events happening this weekend. Here’s a look at some of the activities going on across the Tennessee Valley!

Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Celebration Parade – A community event will honor Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s legacy with unity, pride, and community spirit on Saturday, Jan. 17, at noon in downtown Huntsville. The free event is open to all residents.

Operation Christmas Clean Up – Residents can recycle Christmas trees, flattened cardboard, batteries and old electronics at two free collection sites on Jan. 17. Live trees must have all lights and ornaments removed, and drop-off will be available from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at John Hunt Park, 2315 Airport Road SW, and Madison City Schools Stadium, 211 Celtic Drive…
