MNPD: New Year’s Eve rape suspect arrested in Louisville

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — A suspect wanted in connection with the rape of a teen on New Year’s Eve was arrested in Louisville, Kentucky Friday afternoon.

According to the Metro Nashville Police Department, 31-year-old Mena Awad was arrested at a hotel in Louisville, Kentucky. Awad was accused of sexually assaulting a 16-year-old girl in her Millwood Drive apartment on Dec. 31, 2025.

He allegedly entered her unlocked apartment around 7 a.m. and assaulted her in her bedroom. The teen told police she did not know him, adding that he was armed with a gun and a knife at the time.

Awad was added to the MNPD’s list of “Most Wanted” fugitives earlier this week.
