Lexington fire engine overturns in crash

LEXINGTON, Ky. (FOX 56) — A Lexington Fire Department engine overturned in an accident on Friday.

It happened around 11:43 a.m. on Friday, Jan. 16, near Old Main Street and Clyde Street.

According to the department, Engine 4 was on the way to a call, traveling with lights and sirens, when it collided with a passenger vehicle. The fire engine overturned, drawing the attention of nearby businesses and drivers in the area.

“Obviously, you don’t see an engine on its side every day, so we’re just all thankful that everyone’s okay,” Battalion Chief Derek Roberts said.

Despite the dramatic crash, officials said that no one was injured. Three first responders were inside the fire engine at the time of the crash, and one person was in the passenger vehicle…
