TATTNALL COUNTY, Ga. – The Georgia Bureau of Investigation is investigating the death of 35-year-old Clinton Wayne Scarboro of Uvalda, GA, following an attempted arrest Thursday morning in Tattnall County.
According to preliminary information, GBI agents with the Special Enforcement Team (SET) were assisting the Tattnall County Sheriff’s Office in executing an arrest warrant issued out of Emanuel County. The operation began around 11:20 a.m. on January 15, 2026, at a residence in the 100 block of Middle Road in Collins.
Agents arrived at the home and issued repeated commands over a public address system for Scarboro to exit the residence. A woman who lived at the home came outside and confirmed Scarboro was inside. After Scarboro failed to respond, agents deployed pepper-based chemical agents into the residence…
