The fire broke out at a home on Third Street in Carlstadt at approximately 4 p.m., according to Jeff Angermeyer, the deputy chief of detectives at the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office.
During their initial response and fire suppression efforts, local police and firefighters found the man inside of the home, Angermeyer said. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
