TOLEDO, Ohio — A Lucas County judge has denied a defense request to suppress evidence in the murder case involving 13-year-old Kei’Mani Latigue, ruling that police had sufficient probable cause to search a vehicle linked to her father, Darnell Jones.
Jones is charged with aggravated murder, rape, kidnapping and other counts in connection with his daughter’s death. Kei’Mani was reported missing on March 18 after her grandmother and legal guardian, Dorothy Latigue, returned home from work and found the residence disturbed and the girl gone.
