TROUTDALE, Ore. — A windy start to the weekend is in store for parts of Western Oregon and Southwest Washington, with strong gusts in some places reaching up to 40 mph.

The National Weather Service – Portland office issued a wind advisory for parts of the east Portland metro area and the western Columbia River Gorge for strong east winds.
The gusts could blow around unsecured objects, like trash cans, and could also bring down trees and debris – potentially causing power outages.
