MASSILLON, Ohio — The Ohio Department of Youth Services (DYS) tells 3News that a teenage inmate was hospitalized following “a serious incident” involving another youth inmate at the Indian River Juvenile Correctional Facility in Massillon earlier this week.
“Monday night, a serious incident occurred involving a teenager living at our Indian River facility who was seriously injured by another DYS youth. While we cannot provide details on the victim’s health, we can share that he is currently hospitalized, and we have been in close contact with his family,” the DYS wrote in its statement on Friday.
The Ohio State Highway Patrol is leading the criminal investigation into this incident…
