101st Airborne Division to conduct 21-day field exercise

FORT CAMPBELL, Ky. (WKRN) — If you hear loud noises overhead near Fort Campbell, you need not worry — the 101st Airborne Division is conducting a large-scale training exercise.

From Jan. 18 through Feb. 7, more than 7,000 soldiers, 22 rotary-wing aircraft and more than 20 emerging military technology systems will be utilized as part of “Operation Lethal Eagle.”

Two Marine Corps MV-22 Osprey aircraft from the Marine Medium Tiltrotor Squadron 774 will also be incorporated into the exercise as proof-of-concept to prepare for the division’s future fielding of the MV-75 tilt-rotor aircraft in 2028…
