Two charged in Fauquier after apparent drugs-in-Bible contraband scheme

Two people have been charged after the Fauquier County Sheriff’s Office intercepted a delivery of drugs this week that were stored in a Bible intended to be delivered to an inmate inside the Fauquier County Adult Detention Center.

At approximately 12:40 p.m. Tuesday, deputies with the sheriff’s office responded to a “suspicious occurrence at a location in Warrenton,” according to a news release.

Upon arrival, deputies spoke with the complainant, who provided them with a mailed package. Deputies searched the package, which was found to contain a Bible with suspected narcotics hidden inside. Detectives conducted an investigation and found the package was intended for an inmate at the Fauquier detention center, the release states…
