The son of a couple in The Villages is serving 90 days behind bars after being found guilty this past week by a jury on a felony charge of driving under the influence.
Alexander Gregory Arcobello, 34, who lives with his parents in the Village of Dabney, was sentenced in the wake of the jury’s verdict in Lake County Court. In addition to being ordered to serve 90 days in jail, he will lose his driver’s license for six months and will be on probation for one year. He has two previous drunk driving convictions in Michigan.
An officer spotted Arcobello passed out in a golf cart in the wee hours on May 3 at Elkington Road and Meggison Road. The officer woke up Arcobello and asked for identification. Arcobello, who seemed to be “confused,” handed the officer a medical marijuana card. The golf cart was still switched on with the lights illuminated, the report noted.
Arcobello refused to participate in field sobriety exercises and would not provide a breath test. The officer conducted a criminal history check and found that Arcobello had been convicted of drunk driving in 2016 and 2018 in Michigan…
