One person dead after fire at boarding house on Lyell Avenue

ROCHESTER, N.Y. — One person has died after a fire at a three-story boarding house on Lyell Avenue Friday night.

According to Lt. Jackie Sierra from the Rochester Fire Department, crews were called just before 7 p.m. for a house on fire with a report of people trapped. When crews got there, they found heavy fire coming from the house.

Due to the report of a person trapped, extra crews were called. Sierra says the fire was coming from the attic of the house, and was put out in over 20 minutes…
