Polk County clerk of courts sues Iowa over age discrimination, retaliation

DES MOINES, Iowa — The state of Iowa is facing a lawsuit from Polk County’s clerk of court, who alleges she was not hired for a job due to her age and then suffered from retaliation after she complained.

Anne Sheeley has served as the clerk of court since 2017, managing more than 80 employees and running the court’s operations.
