Parkville has always been effortlessly postcard-pretty with its brick Main Street, bluffs at your back and the Missouri River rolling slow and wide beyond the port. But over the last two years, it seems Parkville’s potential has caught the attention of ambitious chefs. Chef-led dining is making its mark on the quaint Northland town, just a fifteen-minute drive outside of downtown KC.

Spots like Acre bring wood-fired ambition to Parkville Commons while Prima Facie Bistro & Market serves Australian lamb chops and dressed-up crab cakes out of the vault of a 108-year-old bank. Down the hill, Wild Flour Baking Co. warms up a Victorian-inspired cottage with loaves and pastries that sell out before noon while Parker Hollow, Parkville’s newest kitchen addition owned and operated by acclaimed chef Jonathan Justus, leans into seafood.
