Buffalo Hoagie Hotspot Targets Basswood For Bold Fort Worth Debut

Buffalo-born sandwich shop The Hoagie Stop is packing up its hoagie rolls and heading south, with plans to land in Fort Worth, according to company listings and local reporting. The new storefront is slated for the Shops at Basswood on the city’s north side and is scheduled to open sometime in 2026. When it does, it will be the brand’s first location outside the Northeast.

The menu is said to include nearly 20 sandwiches, from Philly cheesesteaks to the chain’s “Westside Special,” along with steak fries, wings and chicken fingers, as reported by the Fort Worth Star-Telegram. The Westside Special is described as a hot hoagie topped with meat, banana peppers, cheese, onion and the shop’s house sauce.

The Shops at Basswood is a recently built retail strip on Basswood Boulevard that serves far-north Fort Worth near Interstate 35W, positioning the new hoagie shop to catch both neighborhood regulars and commuter traffic. Property listings for the development lay out the retail address and show a slate of new tenants coming to the strip, according to LoopNet.
