Windy, Cold & Rainy Saturday night for Carnival Festivities

NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) – We’ve seen some rain pass through southeast Louisiana and southern Mississippi, but that’s not all we will feel this Saturday evening.

The Krewe Mosaique have a parade for Saturday at 6 p.m. in the French Quarter which is looking to go off as scheduled, but know that it will be windy and cold in the hours following so you may want to pack an extra layer.

Through the overnight depending on where you live, temperatures will drop into the 30s:

It’s also around 6 p.m. that the winds will pick up giving us a Small Craft Advisory through noon on Sunday:

Spots across the area will have wind gusts in the 20-mph range inland and over 30-mph along the coast so make sure to either lock things down that can potentially be blown or bring them indoors.

By 7 p.m., our area will see scattered showers (especially in New Orleans) then widespread across the South Shore and parts of the Mississippi counties at 11 p.m…
