Mesa Police expand response options with drone first responder program

MESA, AZ (AZFamily) — Mesa police have implemented a Drone First Responder program that allows pilots to fly drones to active calls from miles away, sometimes arriving before patrol officers.

The program uses a drone operated remotely from the department’s Real Time Crime Center, providing officers with aerial surveillance and information before they arrive on scene and while they work the call.
