MANASSAS, Va. (7News) — Six leading national and regional conservation organizations are speaking out against a planned data center complex in Prince William County that would be the largest data center campus on the planet.
The nonprofits, including the National Parks Conservation Association and the Coalition to Protect Prince William County, filed an amicus curiae brief last week in support of a lawsuit by the Oak Valley Homeowners Association. The brief shows support for the HOA’s efforts to stop construction of the Prince William Digital Gateway. The gateway would include 37 data centers around 1,750 acres surrounding Manassas National Battlefield Park.
“If the development is allowed to proceed, the solemn nature of this historic site would become marred by sitting in the shadow of the monstrous data centers, along with their associated electrical infrastructure,” the brief states…
