Three northeast Georgia area teams had chances to pin down state wrestling titles on Saturday. But only Jefferson in Class 3A was able to walk away with a crown after the State Duals tournaments concluded around the state.
Buford in Class 6A, the Dragons in Class 3A, and East Jackson in Class 2A all had maneuvered their way into the finals following Friday’s action.
The Dragons rallied from an early deficit to beat Troup, 57-21, at The Arena. East jackson fell to defending state champion Rockmart while Buford lost to now 12-time defending state champion Camden County.
