Vanderburgh County waste management to host spring Tox-Away Day event

HENDERSON, Ky. (WEHT) — The Vanderburgh County Solid Waste Management District is hosting its annual spring Tox-Away Day event.

The event is scheduled to take place from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. on March 28 at the former Roberts Stadium parking lot. According to officials, the event allows Vanderburgh County residents to safely dispose of household hazardous waste for free.

The following items will be accepted:

  • Oil-based paint
  • Solvents & thinners
  • Pesticides
  • Herbicides
  • Household chemicals
  • Motor oil
  • Antifreeze
  • Gasoline
  • Auto batteries & fluids
  • Smoke detectors
  • Fluorescent tube lights
  • Fire extinguishers
  • Pharmaceuticals

The following items will not be accepted:

  • Latex paint
  • Appliances
  • Electronics
