The 2026 version saw another national high-water mark fall at Virginia Beach Sports Center, this time on the girls side.
Grassfield senior Sophie Rambo sped to a win in the 500m with a time of 1:10.07, setting a new high school indoor national record. Rambo took the lead shortly after the start and led wire-to-wire.
