Northwest Iowa town running for ‘America’s Favorite Small Towns’

LE MARS, Iowa — A northwest town is the only one in Iowa running for ‘America’s Favorite Small Towns’, but they’ll need the state’s support to make it through several rounds of voting.

Located in Plymouth County, Le Mars has been dubbed the Ice Cream Capital of the World. Earning the title in 1994, the town is the home base of Blue Bunny and produces more ice cream than any other place in the world, according to their website.

Now Le Mars is up for a new title, ‘America’s Favorite Small Towns,’ a contest held by PARADE and Steller. The national contest is determined by public voting, with the winner being highlighted through articles, parties, and securing a place as a top tourist destination…
