LUBBOCK, Texas — A Lubbock County Sheriff’s Deputy was involved in a low-speed collision with a bicyclist at the intersection of 34th Street and the Southbound Interstate 27 Access Road around 10 a.m. today. Both the bicyclist and their dog, Rusty, were unharmed, according to the Lubbock County Sheriff’s Office.
The deputy was stopped at a red light and began to accelerate when the light turned green, at which point the bicyclist crossed in front of the vehicle. Despite the deputy’s immediate application of brakes, the front bumper of the vehicle made contact with the bicycle, knocking it over. Emergency Medical Services were called as a precaution, but the bicyclist refused treatment, and the bicycle was undamaged…
