SOLON, Ohio — A Solon family’s dog will make her big-screen debut later this month when an independent film shot in Northeast Ohio premieres at the Sundance Film Festival.
Furgie, a Golden Retriever and yellow Labrador mix owned by Elizabeth Frey and her family, appears as the family dog in the film “Carousel,” which will debut at Sundance in Utah and be available for at-home viewing through the festival’s online platform.
“Carousel” follows a recently divorced doctor whose orderly life is upended as he navigates parenting his young daughter while reconnecting with a woman from his past. Set against a backdrop of family routines and emotional crossroads, the film explores how relationships, responsibility and second chances collide.
