Hundreds turn out for Charlotte’s MLK parade to honor civil rights icon

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Crowds lined the streets of Uptown on Saturday to honor the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. at the city’s annual parade celebrating the civil rights leader.

The parade traveled down Tryon Street and ended on Brooklyn Village Avenue. More than 100 community organizations participated, including marching bands and step teams.
