A body was pulled from the Willamette River the afternoon of Jan. 18.
Eugene Springfield Fire and Eugene Police Department personnel responded to an area near South Bank Path where it was reported a person was submerged in the frigid water near the river’s edge.
After the body was pulled from the river, ESF found the person was dead. The Lane County Medical Examiner took jurisdiction to continue the investigation, said EPD spokesperson Melinda McLaughlin.
