Watch for black ice, slick roads during Monday morning commute

CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCBD) – Forecasters are encouraging drivers to slow down, leave early, and pay attention during the Monday morning commute due to a risk of patchy black ice.

Leftover moisture and puddles from Sunday’s rainfall, combined with overnight temperatures that dropped below freezing, may cause patchy black ice on area roads during early morning hours.

Icy spots could form on paved surfaces like bridges and overpasses, primary and secondary roads, parking lots, sidewalks, and driveways…
