FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA) – Heavy bursts of snow push through Monday morning as a strong cold front arrives.
Slick roads are already causing slowdowns across the area as a few more bursts of snow push through early this morning between 4 and 7 a.m., wrapping up by mid-morning around 8 to 9 a.m. If you’re heading out, give yourself extra time and drive cautiously.
The real story today isn’t the snow — it’s the cold. Temperatures will plummet from 18 degrees this morning down to just 4 degrees by 5 p.m., but the wind chill is what will really bite. Expect wind chills around -15 this afternoon, with westerly winds gusting up to 35 mph. That dangerous cold will stick around through tonight, dropping to 2 degrees with similar wind conditions.
