Cold, clear start to the week with a chance for weekend snow in the Triad

(WGHP) — Heavy frost formed across the Piedmont overnight, so please allow some extra time to get your car cleared before you hit the road.

We will have clear, cold conditions this morning, but the day will end up being sunny and dry.  Any Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day acts of service and remembrance will be in great shape if you bundle up.  Highs are going to end up in the mid-40s.

A cold front is going to sweep across the Piedmont tonight, but aside from some wispy clouds, there won’t be any noticeable effects from it tonight. Lows are going to dip to 20° in the Triad, with teens scattered across the Piedmont.

More sunshine is on the way with highs near 40 tomorrow. High pressure is forecast to bubble up across the southeastern U.S., and as it slips eastward, we will have a milder breeze, bringing temperatures up. Highs are expected to return to the mid-40s on Wednesday with mostly sunny skies. The warmest day of the week is Thursday, when we will have partly cloudy skies and highs in the mid-50s…
