Dr. Tom Kim, a longtime Knoxville physician and founder of Free Medical Clinic of America, has died.
Kim’s legacy is preserved in his free clinics for uninsured community members, which were renamed in his honor when he retired in 2019. Kim spent decades offering free care to tens of thousands of patients who couldn’t access it elsewhere.
“It is with deep sadness that we learned of Dr. Tom Kim’s passing last night. He was, and will remain, an inspiration. We will miss his visits at the clinic and his stories of his incredible life.
